Huber Maintainer Serial Numbers

I have just recovered a Huber tractor from an out back station and would like help identifying the model. I cannot find a serial number anywhere on the tractor,however it has a Stearns engine model AU eng No. 286817.It requires some major engine work as the engine has been left dismantled for many years, and is an unknown quanity. I have started this weekend casting new roller cam followers,and I am in possesion of a second crankshaft and radiator so I have some extras appears I am only mission the correct Carby.Any assistance will be appreciated.Thanks Norm.
Well, Huber seems to be one of those tractors with a certain amount of confusion in engines used, at least as published in old parts catalogs. So I was pleasantly surprised to find several of mine more or less agreeing: 1933 Perfect Circle rings, 1947 McQ-Norris engine parts and 1952 McCord gaskets all showed the 18-36, apparently uprated or upgraded to a 21-39 (??) using the Stearns AU (unless, of course, the 21-39 was some kind of additional model.). Dates given range from 1926-1930, with the 52 McCord giving 27-28 for the 18-36 and 29-30 for the 21-39. This model, per it's apparent (possible?) uprating/upgrading, can be easily confused with a 20-40 using a Stearns DU, but listed as a separate model in the above catalogs. A 1936 King Products engine parts is a little broader, showing Stearns A, AR and AU for the 18-36/21-39 and Stearns D, DR and DU for the abovementioned 20-40. Will eyeball a few more in the AM, and advise if anything contradictory is found. With sympathy, Bud.
The horsepower rating for Hubers is normally stamped into the flat spot on the top front of the transmission housing behind the fuel tank bracket and on the opposite side from the belt pulley. This could help you narrow down your search. Post added at 09:24 AM - Previous post was at 09:20 AM - Norm, if your tractor is equipped with a Stearns motor the HP rating will be stamped on the top left on the trans case housing right behind the motor opposite the belt pulley under the fuel tank. Either a 18-36 or 21-39, if there is a serial # let me know I can call a friend who keeps track of the super fours and he would probably have all the infomtion for this tractor. The 20-40/32-45 and the used the heavy steel wheels and the small model such as this had the pressed wheels. You say you're missing the small tank, where would this have been? There are 3 super fours at my place 2-40-62's a 1-20-40, the only 1 I've seen with a starter tank is the 20-40 at my place is has brackets at the back of the hood and there is a round tank bolted here.
It looks original but like I said have not seen another 1 with this extra tank. Do have the seat and post? The pictures I posted of the 40-62 makes it look pretty rough but it really isn't in that bad of shape.
Opera mini 5 for n70. It's missing just a couple of things, I've had the cylinder block done and the head, just need to see what I need to do with the crank and cam to start getting it cleaned up painted and put it back together. It has original steel wheels on it now so it does look better. Thanks for getting some pictures of your tractor one here. Winchester Model 94 Serial Numbers
The serial number will be on the right side of the frame, cast into it, below the engine. Mine is #8477. I have a complete manual for it, which I found last year on ebay for, can you believe it, $10.00. I could copy pages for you, at cost. The machine has a Hercules 6 cylinder engine it, which we recently got running. It even had water in two cylinders when we took the head off, but it runs now, without burning oil. Gasket kits are available.
M1 Garand Serial Numbers
I found a source for carburetor rebuild kits and a new set of valves via Google. I think the machine is worth $3000 to $4000 in running condition. It does a great job on our dirt roads here in Eastham, Cape Cod.
